Description:

These illustrations were born out of a series of material experiments I conducted using the BluTac, a world famous office supply. Using soap, vinegar and water, I was able to suspend microscopic pieces of BluTac in water. Once dried, I could mix it with gum arabica to create a pigment. I then painted random shapes on a piece of paper using the newly concocted pigment which I then used to make the illustrations. The unique properties of the BluTac pigment made it so that it would collect in varous pockets of the shapes, creating unique gradient patterns that elevated the drawings above them.
